This full-scale transformation began with the complete demolition and rebuild of the townhouse, preserving only the original front façade. Behind it, a contemporary family home was crafted, designed to feel expansive yet intimate, with a balance of functionality, warmth, and refined detailing.

The entrance hallway was clad in birch, setting a calm, natural tone that flows throughout the home. Every inch of the interior was reimagined, from new floors and Italian stucco walls to bespoke joinery and custom perforated steel staircases. Each element was designed to complement the family's lifestyle while enhancing the townhouse's modern character.

A new side and rear extension introduced vaulted walnut-clad ceilings, creating a dramatic sense of volume and warmth. Bespoke sinks and joinery throughout reinforced the home's crafted, contemporary feel, while a walk-in dressing room off the master suite added both luxury and practicality.

The kitchen and dining areas were given special attention, creating spaces equally suited to everyday family life and hosting guests. Dark wood cabinetry adds depth and richness, while contemporary fittings and carefully considered layouts ensure functionality without sacrificing style. Secret pocket doors were also integrated into the design, concealing a utility room and a discreet kitchen workstation to maximise efficiency without compromising elegance.

Exposed structural steels were left visible and celebrated as part of the design language, contributing to a minimalist, industrial edge that contrasts beautifully with the warmth of the walnut and the softness of natural finishes. These details highlight the home's architectural honesty while adding depth and character to the contemporary scheme.

From concept through construction, our team developed the design, confirmed structural works, submitted building applications, and finalised a detailed specification of finishes. The result is a calm, contemporary townhouse — a home that feels restorative, natural, and equally suited to relaxation or entertaining.
